Privacy Policy
1. Overview
NavGPT is a Chrome extension that enhances navigation within ChatGPT. The extension functions locally in your browser.
We do not collect or transmit your ChatGPT conversations or browsing activity.
2. Data Processed Locally
NavGPT stores limited technical data locally on your device using Chrome’s extension storage system, including:
- Trial start and expiration timestamps
- Daily usage counters
- License key (if entered by you)
- License validation status and timestamps
- Installation identifier (instance ID)
This data remains on your device and is not transmitted except for license validation purposes described below. All locally stored data is removed if you uninstall the extension.
3. License Validation
If you activate a paid license, the following data is transmitted securely via HTTPS to our license validation service:
- Your license key
- A generated installation identifier
Our validation service is hosted on Cloudflare Workers.
During validation requests, Cloudflare may process IP addresses as part of normal network operations. We do not store IP addresses or associate them with individual users.
License validation is necessary to:
- Provide access to paid features
- Prevent fraud and license abuse
Legal basis (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) & 6(1)(f)):
- Performance of a contract (providing paid features)
- Legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse
4. Payments
Payments are processed by our payment provider (e.g., Lemon Squeezy). We do not receive or store your payment details.
The payment provider acts as an independent data controller for billing and payment information.
5. Data Sharing
NavGPT does not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
We use the following service providers:
- Cloudflare (infrastructure provider)
- Lemon Squeezy (payment processor)
These providers may process limited technical data necessary to operate their services.
6. Data Retention
We do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our own servers.
License validation requests are processed only when necessary to verify entitlement.
All locally stored extension data remains on your device and is removed when the extension is uninstalled.
7. International Transfers
Our infrastructure providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable, they rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of personal data
- Object to processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because NavGPT does not store personal data on our servers, most data can be removed by uninstalling the extension.
